Gone in 60 seconds

‘Gone in 60 Seconds’, the 2000 Jerry Bruckheimer remake with Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie, showed how you can steal any car in under 60 seconds. Though I’m sure it wasn’t the intention of Bruckheimer to make people think, but there’s a lot of things you can do under 60 seconds.

- Write down the synopsis of that idea you’ve been carrying around for all that time
- Scribble the foundations of your first company
- Come up with a name for that company
- Reply to 2, maybe 3 of your flagged items in your mailbox
- Make a list of things you don’t have to do asap
- Listen closely to what someone else has to say
- Read some blog/facebook/… comments
- Get prepared for a meeting
- Download and install Wordpress to start your first blog
- Read a useful article about something related to your business
- Tidy your desk
- Congratulate somebody on a job well done
- Browse through a dozen of personal ads looking for something new
- Call a friend just to say ‘hi’
- Relax a minute
- Steal a car
60 seconds are over in a heartbeat (or actually 70 heartbeats on average) but they can mean a world of difference.
