Enthusiasm or disappointment?

- If you knew you wouldn’t be able to deliver on time, why did you sell it?
- If you can’t make it to that meeting, why did you promise it?
- If you didn’t find the time to write the report, why did you say you would?

What do you think is a positive emotion to move forward?  Enthusiasm or disappointment?  So why not go for the first?  I presume you want your customer/partner/employer to be happy with you?  Why risk a lot of bad mouth-to-mouth?  Do you really think that you have to say ‘yes’ to everything to actually be good at your job?  Saying ‘no’ from time to time can get you a lot further.
